Problems with WSUS on SBS 2003

I installed WSUS 3.0 SP1 on 2 SBS2003 servers on different networks

and both the installations look slightly different. E.g. in a custom

mmc on one of the servers I can add SBS Update Services snap-in

whereas on the other one I have only Update Services which look a lot

different. Then the server that uses proxy and has ISA server

installed gives me Cannot Display the Webpage message when I try

accessing WSUS management console from https://servername:8530/WsusAdmin.

Moreover when I get to the Update Services console on it it doesn't

detect any other computers. The other one detects all of the

computers

on it's network but in my custom mmc in SBS Update Services I'm

getting a messages that says : "Windows Small Business Server

(Windows

SBS) Update Services is not running because it automatically turns

off

if you customize Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)... " although

it looks like it works an I've installed WSUS 3.0 not 2.0. Can

someone

help me with setting it up correctly as I reinstalled it twice

already

and each time I had to get all the updates from Microsoft servers

although they're already on my server. Also is there a way to change

port 8530 to 80 as it installs with the first one in IIS and when I

just change it there to 80 it doesn't work. BTW I'm pretty sure I set

the GPOs correctly to poit to the right server on the right port

accordingly.

Thanks

yaro

Hi - see my reply to your other post - SBS questions really need to be

posted in the SBS group(s) - with a crosspost to the 'regular' server groups

if needed. SBS does many things its own way and you can botch it badly if

you don't heed its requirements/methods.
