madon37s Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Hi, When I click on a link in an email as you all know a window will open to that link! my question is how do I "fix" the size of the window and to make it stay that size. I have had to re-size the window by dragging the sides of the window to my preferred size etc but every time I then open a new window it justs opens to the old size again. How do I stop this from happening and to be able to keep the window size I want? Kind regards Paul Quote
Jelly Bean Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 You dont have to drag the window. See top left next to red cross? The little sqaure on the button, press it. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
PseFrank Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I'll add a small tip to what Jelly Bean has already said. After clicking on the square next to the red cross (I think Jelly Bean meant Top Right of screen) Instead of closing the window by using the red X. Go to File (Top Left of screen) and close the window by clicking Exit (bottom of menu). This should force Windows to remember the full screen/window setting. And will open every window full screen from then on... Quote I thought I knew today...I'll try again tomorrow. :) Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. RandyL Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 And yet one more idea from me. 1. Drag the window to full size. Do not maximize it. Do not close it. 2. Open a second IE window. 3. Drag it to full size. 4. Now maximize the second window. 5. Go back to the first window and maximize it. 6. Close the first window. 7. Close the second window. madon37s Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 Hi everyone Thanks for all your replies, I think though that I may not have explained myself properly! I actually want the window to stay smaller than the original window so I can still see what's underneath the recently opened window. I hope I have explained that a bit better for you guys. Again many thanks for all your help once again. Kind regards Paul Quote
Plastic Nev Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Hi Paul, I see what you mean, but there is a problem! Any browser, either IE, Firefox, Chrome or whatever, all work the same and will open a new window at the size of the previous one when in the sizeable mode and not much you can do to change that. The only way would be to resize down the last window before opening the next. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here.
