gez Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I have just installed a new game from the cd drive, when I come to run the game I am asked to insert the correct cd rom even though I have not removed th CD from the drive. It is a single CD game, has any one any idea how to solve the problem. Gez Quote
TechAdvance Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Wot game? Try cleaning the disc or blowing inside the Draw Quote GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND www.thetechevolution.co.uk <<<<SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
danzil Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 i would advise blowing in to the cd drive, the smallest drop of salive (yuck) on your lense could make the matter worse..... have you tried the game in another pc to see if this happens. what game is it,have you searched for patches. regards danzil Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D

danzil Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 absolutly agree. dust in the tray can cause as muc trouble as a dirty disc... a can of compressed air should do the trick..these cost about a fiver from http://www.cpc.co.uk or a new drive if it isnt the cd is only about £20 for a dvd/cdrw regards danzil Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D
