Guest Steve Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I have a customer "Mike" that had a mailbox and user setup as MikeW@xyz.com. The user was modified to Mike and I would like to have his Exchange e-mail box to be Mike@xyz.com as well. When I go to attach it in Pop 3 it only shows as MikeW for the Exchange mailbox. When I try to modify his user mailbox in user properties it will change it to Mike and then change it back to MikeW. Also since the user properties has MikeW I cannot modify it in the distribution list as well. Help please. I am totally lost.

Microsoft.public.exchange.admin is, but you will always need to include your version & SP level of Exchange when you post, as methods vary by version. If you're using SBS2003, post in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs. That said - what's happening now is that the address mike@xyz.com is already in use - either by a user, group, contact, or public folder. You'll need to find that one and modify it or get rid of it before you can assign mike@ to this user. Not sure where POP3 enters into it - and since you have Exchange, best to avoid using POP3 anywhere. You shouldn't need it, and it's very limited in functionality.
