I turned on my laptop this morning and found that I had 'Limited or No Connectivity' on the wireless internet connection. The problem is that everything has been working well until today and that I am able to connect to the internet perfectly on the desktop PC.

When I tried to diagnose the problem on the laptop I get a message telling me that it cannot renew my IP address so am a bit stuck. Can anyone give me some advice?

My laptop uses Windows XP Home and it's a Dell Latitude D400/

Hello and welcome.

Try:

Click start/right click on my computer and choose properties/hardware tab/device manager/use the + to open a drop down list under network adaptors/right click on each adaptor and choose update driver.

Click start,All Programs/Accesories/Command Prompt.

Type in ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter.

In command prompt type ipconfig /release and hit enter.

Then type ipconfig /renew and hit enter.

Now shut down the laptop and press the reset button on the wireless router, then restart the laptop.

Now can you connect?
