Evenstephen Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) I turned on my laptop this morning and found that I had 'Limited or No Connectivity' on the wireless internet connection. The problem is that everything has been working well until today and that I am able to connect to the internet perfectly on the desktop PC. When I tried to diagnose the problem on the laptop I get a message telling me that it cannot renew my IP address so am a bit stuck. Can anyone give me some advice? My laptop uses Windows XP Home and it's a Dell Latitude D400/ Edited March 28, 2010 by Evenstephen Quote
Jelly Bean Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Hello and welcome. Try: Click start/right click on my computer and choose properties/hardware tab/device manager/use the + to open a drop down list under network adaptors/right click on each adaptor and choose update driver. Click start,All Programs/Accesories/Command Prompt. Type in ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter. In command prompt type ipconfig /release and hit enter. Then type ipconfig /renew and hit enter. Now shut down the laptop and press the reset button on the wireless router, then restart the laptop. Now can you connect? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Evenstephen Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 Thank you Jelly Bean. That worked perfectly and I've been scratching my brains for hours. :) Quote
