ok so, finaly my cmos battry has died so i put a new one in and obviously i have had to reinput all my settings (as i had OC'ed my pc) so i put all my settings in and reboot to windows - pc BSOD's, i restart the computer, it powers up but the bios wont load. one think i will add is that the voltages for my ram are 2.0v but i think i acedently put in 2.2v. also when i went to reboot the dimms were very very hot.

 

really i just want a second opinion.

things i have tried;

reset cmos via battery and jumpers on mobo

taken cmos battery out and unplugged for 3 hours

taken ram dimms out

taken processor out

disconected sata HDDs

 

possible problems;

mobo dud

ram dimms dud.

bios corrupt

 

quick spec:

amd phenom 9850 (am2) @2.8ghz

4 x 1gb crucial balisticx ddr2 @ 1066mhz

ati asus 4850 512mb

dfi lanparty dk 790fx m2r

Hi and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help,

The Ram sticks getting hot is worrying, but for the moment I back up what Match has asked as somewhere to start from.

However I will add the question do you have a volt meter or other means of testing your power supply to check that it is producing the correct voltages?
