Admin Pack / Poolmon.exe

I have a server (Windows Server 2003 Standard) and I am trying to run a tool

called "poolmon.exe". However it does not seem to exist natively so I went

to install the server 2003 admin pack found at

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c16ae515-c8f4-47ef-a1e4-a8dcbacff8e3&displaylang=en

thinking it might also have that tool. When i go to install that admin pack

from the precious link it tells me it can only be installed on XP machines,

and Server 2003 machines...... which it is. At this point I am at a bit of a

loss as to where this poolmon.exe is supposed to be as well as how to install

this admin pack?

Any ideas anyone?

First, actually the adminpak.msi can be found in windows\system32 directory

on any Wiondows 2003 server. It will also get updated with the latest SP.

The one you downloaded was the original version. I would suggest to update

it with the current version on your 2003 server.

As for poolmon.exe, it's available with the XP SP2 Support Tools (also

available on the XP Service Pack 2 CD):

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=49ae8576-9bb9-4126-9761-ba8011fabf38&displaylang=en

If for Windows 2003, find your CDROM and look for a folder called SUPPORT.

Double click on SUPTOOLS.MSI and install it. You will now have about 30

extra executables including netdiag, dcdiag, poolmon, and many many others.

This is a fairly new version of the Server 2003 Admin Tools Pack from

March. Check here as the one you referenced is ancient:
