Kranglemeister Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Hello there. I decided to install a second dvd writer in my pc, but have run into a problem. I disconnected the second of my hard drives and connected the second dvd writer, so both are on the same IDE cable. I set both the jumpers on the drives to cable select and closed it all up. (I assume I've probably done something wrong already...). On trying to boot up, I get the 'select boot device' etc message, and I'm not sure what to do about it. As far as I knew the o/s and everything concerned with it was on the remaining hard drive, so can someone please tell me why it won't boot up, and any advice on how to get these damn drives working!
