How and when to enter BIOS ???

I need to enter "BIOS /Set up & load default settings" into a knackered lap to get it working again , apparently .

my questions are HOW & WHEN do I do this ??????:confused:

Restart the machine and it will say on the black screen "To enter setup press?"

 

This usaly is F1,F2 or Del.

 

Press the key it tells you to.

 

Once in there usaly F10 key loads defaults.

 

Load defaults and save and exit.

someone on here suggested re-loading BIOS etc but pretty dificult with limited knowledge, cheers .

Dont be scaird of the BIOS.

 

Just look at the screen and see if it says press a certain key to load defaults.

Is on my 3 Putas.

it now says BOOT DEVICE NOT FOUND ?? then it says PLEASE INSTALL AN OPERATING SYSTEM ON YOUR HARD DISK , I thought windows 7 "WAS" an operating system , why cant it find its own system its ran since xmas ??? any ideas before I take it back and dont see it for a month ???

Tweed babe your hard drive may of died.

 

A boot device can be the install disk,hard drive even a floppy disk drive.

mmmm it just worked out the box if I remember corectly ??? no disc I dont think , ** humm , he,ll have to ..................PLAY OUT .....like I used to .

Restart the machine as there maybe a recovery console.

 

Restart and press F10 I think and see if it brings up a list.
