I have an annoying problem which doesn't happen all the time but can be very irritating when it does. When I am on my laptop sometimes the mousepad for no reason whatsoever will click itself and if I'm playing an online pool game, the consequences can be fatal. Also when browsing a webpage sometimes for no reason at all I end up clicking on an advert or any other hyperlink.

If anyone knows of a way to stop this in the future then I'll be really grateful.

I use a Dell Latitude D400 laptop and am using Windows XP Pro.

Hi, not knowing your model, I can only generalise but go to control panel, mice and other pointing devices, you should find that the level of pressure for the click can be altered, if so set it higher in case it is accidental contact causing the problem. You should also be able to turn off the click function altogether, I did with mine as I found it frustrating to use, especially when I have a left and right button underneath it on my Toshiba anyway.

Nev.
