hello

i have just upgraded my packard bell notebook. it seems to have worked apart from the built in microphone isnt working anymore. the computer recognises it and it is deffinately installed. i have checked the drivers and they are up to date.

 

any help would be gratefully received

Hi,

Lets look at the basics first, have you checked the microphone volume control, is there a tick in the mute box? is the volume slider up at the top or near it? does other sounds work OK and can you play music files etc?

OK, what sort of upgrade have you done? was it from an earlier operating system to Windows 7?

It just may need an updated driver, have you tried removing or deleting the drivers, then restarting or rebooting it?

hey nev

yea i upgraded from windows vista to win 7!

i have checked and the drivers are up to date? how do i delete a driver? and reboot?

Hi again, can you give me first the exact model number of your Packard Bell notebook, just in case we need to go chasing for the drivers, best we do that before we go removing or uninstalling the drivers, so at least you will have the new drivers to install.
