Remote Procedure Call termination

I am getting the message Remote Procedure Call error that is described in the

forum. My problem is that I can not turn on the firewall now and I can not

get onto the internet from that machine. Can anyone outline a procedure to

obtain requisite software that I can download and transfer by thumb disk or

dvd to the infected machine???
