RIS and NVIDIA Network Card (Controller)

All,

I have a problem with RIS and the built-in Nvidia nForce Network Controller

card.

I have a 2003 RIS server that had been working great for a few years. Just

recently got new CPUs that require a different RIS image. This is where the

fun begins..

I am able to initiate the RIS setup and run the text mode setup of WinXP as

normal. RIS detectes my Nvidia network controller at this point and allows

the file copy + text mode setup to complete.

However, once it goes into the GUI mode setup and attempts to join my domain

(via the .SIF answer file) it fails.

It Says "Invalid Domain Was Specified, Would you like to proceed for now and

try joining the domain later?"

It seems to be that the GUI mode setup porition is unable to install my

Nvidia network card drivers and fails to join the domain because of no

network connection.

If i allow the installation to finish, windows will install the drivers that

i am trying to use for the GUI mode setup. So i THINK i have the correct

drivers, but at this point im not 100% on that.. The device manager is not

too helpful but i belive i have Nvidia nForce driver 6.02.00.1126

I have followed the procedure in KB315279 to add third party NIC drivers to

the RIS setup. I am no stranger to this procedure as we have done this in the

past for our numerious other RIS images, so Im pretty sure im following the

procdure correctly.

I have heard of some super-secret way of making this work that Nvidia

supposidly keeps very hush-hush about, but have been unable to locate this

procedure as people have posted invalid URL about it on the web..

Can anyone help? Im on a tight deadline and really need to get this working

correctly.
