Why USB Speaker No Function

I bought a USB Speaker and plug it into my USB Port. Running WinXP Pro. When

I play the music the sound still comes from my notebook speaker. Check the

"Sounds & Audio Devices" and does not find USB Speaker as selection. Also

cannot find USBAUDIO.SYS file in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers.

Anyone can help to enable or advise what I need to do to get the USB Speaker

to function ?

I'd imagine you'd need to install the driver for it. How else would it

recognize it?

ALL hardware needs drivers. What do you think USBAUDIO.SYS is?

If you install Service Pack 2 there is a USBAUDIO.SYS in

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 you can copy to

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
