windows 7 media player probs

Hi folks ive been having some problems with win 7 media player which i think is media player 12...

 

The problem im having is it keeps on updating when its running and causing my pc to run very slow plus it

 

seems to have duplicated all my music tracks..

 

Im wondering if its possible to uninstall it and just use good old media player 11

 

any help here would be appreciated ....

Hi ajackson269 It is possible to remove 12 and install WMP 11,but involves going into the Registry.

Would not advise unless you are experienced with the Registry.

 

Why not just turn Windows Media Player 12 off,and install a third Party Player?

You could try something like iTunes for music, and VLC player for video - much simpler and hasle free :)

How to turn off Windows Media Player.

 

1 Click on Start

2 Click on Control Panel

3 Find "Programs" Icon.

4 Click on "Turn Windows Features On or Off"

5 Find "Windows media Player" and uncheck the box.

Just to add, it is only possible to roll back media player to an earlier version if that earlier version was ever on the computer. If it is fairly new and came with version12, version 11 will not be there to go back to. You may be able to download version 11 from Microsoft though.
