Forgive me for suggesting the obvious, but have you inadvertently turned off your laptops wireless capability?....Maybe a small slider switch?

I thought I knew today...I'll try again tomorrow. :)

As PseFrank says - don't overlook the obvious.

Most laptops have a switch to turn on / off the wireless connectivity. This is sometimes positioned on the front and is easily turned off by accident.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Wireless network

I have a wireless network. I'm trying to access the files on my desktop. On my laptop in my work group, I see the icon for my desktop computer. Thanks for this

Can you now access the internet?

It sounds like you are trying to use Remote Desktop, you need to use a valid log in name for the PC you are trying to access and a matching password for that account. Just to be clear the PC you are trying to access needs to be turned on
