can't access file on another computer

Hi,

i have set up 4 machines on a simple network and each of them read the

others just fine. On machine #1 I have an Access database file. I want to

open/edit that file from machine #2. I am able to see the file just fine from

machine #2. However, it won't let me open the file as I get an error that

says, "Could not find the file c:\document and

settings\user\documents\myfile.mdb.

I don't understand how to get this file open on to machine #2 as I can see

it right there in the network (in my Explorer).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The best place to ask this question is in an Access newsgroup. That way

you'll get the attention of people who are expert about the Access program.

http://aumha.org/nntp.htm - list of MS public newsgroups so you can find one

for Access

When you post, make sure you include the version of Access that you're using

(and I assume it is the same version on all machines but if it isn't, make

sure to include that). Also include the version and Service Pack level of

XP that is on your computers.

Good luck,
