Hi, I have Compaq desktop 2400 with a CD RW drive, Windows XP. The drive burns music onto CDs perfectly. But I have have tried CD-Rs, CD-RW's, all brand new and packaged of several known brands, and several different burning programs, and I cannot burn ordinary non-music data files of any kind onto any of the CD types, using the 'burn data' options of the burning softwares. I have also tried a wide variety of burning speeds, and I ensure the data files I am trying to write are well within the capacity of the CDs. . Whatever I try, I get a message saying something along the lines of 'the disk is not empty/cannot be erased' - I am baffled as music files (MP3s, .wav, .ogg and other formats) write to CD with no problems. Any ideas please? Cheers.
