Lone_wolf_S117 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Ok, i am coming up to the end of the year overhaul of my pc. I going to remove most of the componets, clean them and reassemble it. My question is how often should i change the CPUs and Heatsinks Heat paste? (my pc is about a year old and its still the same CPU and heatsink) Quote
TechAdvance Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Too be honest unless your an avid overclocker or have built your pc yourself you wont need to change anything. The Heat Paste is an optional thing and you can get some very good stuff here http://www.maplin.co.uk/searchtemplate.asp?criteria=THERMAL%20HEAT%20SINK%20PASTE (You might want to search for better prices) Quote GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND www.thetechevolution.co.uk <<<<SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
danzil Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 only change it really when it is rock hard and breakable.....usually the thermal paste is tacky or sticky too touch. unless you have a thermal pad.......artic silver is very good paste to get..as techadvance said maplin...they will have this regards danzil Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D
