Help!

I'm having problem with my wireless laptop - it keeps turning itself off and then restarts with the message 'no bootable CD ROM on ATAP CD Rom'. I've tried F8 key and a screen appears with the following message:-

'A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your pc. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:-

Disable or uninstall anti-viruses, disk defragment or back up utilities. Check hard drive configuration and checkcheck for updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, then restart your PC and lists tech info 0x00000024 and 4 other codes'??

I hope someone can help with this, as I am not technically minded at all.

Thanks

What are the other error codes?

A 24 error code refers to an issue with an NTFS file system hard drive. Try using the "hot fix" found in the following Stop error 0x24 may occur on a computer that has file system filter drivers installed in Windows Server 2003 and in Windows XP Professional x64 Edition I know that will not be much help if you can't boot however try tapping the F8 from the beginning and if it works try booting to "safe mode mode with networking" and run the hot fix from there.

Otherwise perhaps one of the more advanced Tech's herecan go farther with this.
