IE Defender HELP

When navigating in the windows environment (the problem is not presenting in

other programs), clicks on links or any other page movement generates an

enduring error message that is masked like Windows software. The message

says: you computer has been infected by some unknown Trojan horse. It’s

dangerous for your system. Critical Files may be lost. Click OK to download

the antispiware program (IE Defender). When you click on the ok, your page

is re-directed to the IE defender site and your system is supposedly scanned.

The scan shows several “virus” that you have. They are: (with the Microsoft

Red X shield) Trojan.BetaDivX.Clicker; Trojan.BetaDivX.Temp;

Trojan.BetaDivX.Backdoor. When you click on remove on that screen, you are

directed to pay for antispyware, which I have (Symantec, the blockers on IE,

the blockers on the customized toolbar, Windows Defender (all of which

indicated that the Trojan , et al. didn’t exists. What is going on? Step by

Step Instructions would be greatly appreciated. (I’m using XP on my HP and

this problem is getting on my GD nerves.) Thanks in advance.

How To Remove IE Defender

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114240.html

===========================

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827315

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log

to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2

(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with

assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22,

http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,

http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7,

http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30, or other appropriate forums for review

by an expert in such matters, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this

isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and

independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Re: IE Defender HELP

in regards to what

has been discovered,

seemingly your system

is being exposed to

dangerous code and

you should try to figure

out how.

perhaps you have a

slew of antivirals installed

other than what you have

mentioned and none of

them are actually working

anymore.

uninstall symantec

and defender and

then see if your

system becomes

functional again.
