Guest Fox1977 Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Hi there, Just wondering if anyone could offer any advice on this issue. I am in the process of setting up a new network domain in a new colo data centre. The plan is to setup about 4 new servers and eventually joing them upto our existing win 2003 domain running in another datacentre using a metro ethernet connection between the two. I was thinking of setting up the new solution as a new domain and once it was up and running properly then join it to the other domain. Is this possible? What is the best way to set this up? Any tips and suggestions gratefully received. Thanks in advance

Hello Fox1977, You can not join domainA to domainB like you describe, you can create a trust between 2 domains. Or you can create subdomains in your existing one like yourdomain.com and subdomain.yourdomain.com Another way can be just to create an additional site in your existing domain, means the new DC's will also be added to yourdomain.com and only get different network configuration and will be connected with a router. Then you have only to configure Active directory Sites and services with the new subnets and move the DC's to the new locations. What would be the reason to set it up as an entirely separate domain?
