Can I use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse with XP? Do I need anything to

install in order for it to work? My husband was looking for a keyboard

where the keys are quieter than the one I got, he's tired of hearing tick,

tick, tick. The one he was looking at Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000

Yes you can. The mouse and keyboard should come with instructions on how to

set them up. I would suggest that you try and find one where the heyboard

signal is encrypted using a passkey as my neighbour has a bluetooth keyboard

which my laptop insists on detecting and installing. I can then see exactly

what my neighbour is doing. Some systems used fixed passkeys, some provide

a driver generated 'random' key that has to be typed in the keyboard.

Re: bluetooth question

Okay how would I know if the keyboard has an encrypted signal? Wouldn't the

Microsoft ones be like that?

I doubt if you are going to see it on the box in a store, but directions

that come with products explain how to install them. They will explain

how to put the device into aquire mode (or whatever the term is), and

then search for it with the PC. When the PC finds the device you have

to put in the passkey. My Headset uses 0000 as a key. EVERY ONE,

thus like MI5, if 10 people in the neighborhood had the same headset,

I'd have issues with their device.

Vendor web pages might explain the device setup procedure, you might be

able to download a manual and see how its done, but somehow you want to

define the passkey the device (keyborad / mouse) use before you aquire

the connections.
