Ethereal will show you the packets being sent and received on your

network connection.

If it is packets sent/received that is causing the mystery application

to t"time out" then, yes Ethereal will give you a clue.

More info will help others help you.

Good Luck.

Running Applications

We are running Windows XP Professional. There was one application that is

timed out intermittenly at different intervals. Is there a way to check to

see what caused the timeout? I don't see anything in the Event Logs. Will

Ethereal be able to tell me which application is conflicting?

Thanks.

Re: Running Applications

Thanks for the response.

The software is Heat. It is a Help Desk software. The backend is running

SQL 2000 Enterprise Edition. I am trying to determine which software that

caused Heat to timeout. Sometimes, it takes Heat to timeout in 15 minutes.

Other times, it takes from 30 minutes - 90 minutes to timeout. We have

uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times. Is there a way to

check to see what software that caused Heat to timeout? Any suggestions are

greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
