Folder tree in "Look in" area keeps closing

Hello!

 

I have an annoying problem that I've experienced not only on my computer,

but on a friend's computer also, regarding the folder tree in the "Look In"

window. This problem doesn't occur every time but rather frequently.

Regardless of the software program I'm using to access this window to open a

graphic or file, as soon as I click on the down arrow in the Look In area of

the window and start to move up or down the folder tree, the drop down

window closes that shows the folders and I'm back with just the down arrow.

When I click on it again all the folders are expanded and when I try to move

the scroll bar up or down the folder tree, it immediately closes the drop

down window again. Even when I just click on the down arrow and wait more

than 4 seconds, the folder drop down window closes. The only way out of it

is to go back and not touch the scroll bar or down arrow but click the "up

one level" arrow several times until I get to My Computer and from there I

can navigate the tree to locate the file I want.

 

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, Is there any fix for it?
