Custom Desktop and Auto configure Terminal Server

Recommended Posts

I wanted to rebuild my terminal server. I was wondering if..... there was a

way to create a template (via Group Policy? ) that I could configure terminal

server so when users log in for the first time it will create their profile

with the predefined settings. Can someone please point me in the right

direction.

Thanks,

The way to do that is to modify the Default User profile on the

server.

When users log on for the first time, without having an existing

profile, they receive a copy of the Default User profile as a

starting profile.

RE: Custom Desktop and Auto configure Terminal Server

Hello,

Thank you for your post and as well as to Vera for sharing the information.

Yes, as Vera mentioned, that could be the best way to automatically create

user profiles with the predefined settings.

Besides, if you want to use the Group Policy to lock down the Terminal

Server sessions with some specific settings, I would like to suggest that

you take a look at the following article:

How to lock down a Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 Terminal Server

session:

I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Sincerely,
