my new pc will not run with a the grahice carid in.

I need to shut down the onboard grahices

How?

It a MSI K9AGM2 Moherboard

and a INNO 3D NVIDIX 7600 Series

what happens when the graphics card is in.

more info the better answer you will get.

most motherboards automaticlly disable the on boards card....do you here any strange beeps when using the graphics card.

will look at your spec then post back.

It run for a litte time then stop

the motherboard as a PCI express x 16 slot [ the card is in there ]

 

am2 athon 64/x2 procssor

the ram is two 1gb

audio is integrated

can you boot into safe mode, can you see post (power on self test).or the xp logo..

if so keep tapping f8, then choose safe mode...

does the pc work fine in safe mode...if so a driver is most likely at fault, how hot does the card get

danzil is correct, pluging in a card should disable the onboard no need to do anything.

 

Does the card need extra power from the PSU ? check for a connector on the graphics card.

 

What size is your psu ? can it handle this card ?

 

There may be a bios setting to change which card is initalized first onboard/agp or onboard/peg.
