Windows Explorer Crashes when clicking File

Recently, I have run into a problem with Windows Explorer (WE), whenever I

click on the "File" option on the title bar, Explorer crashes with the

message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We

are sorry for the inconvenience." The error report contains;

AppName: explorer.exe

AppVer: 6.0.2900.3156

ModName: zmshext.dll

ModVer: 4.0.2.75

Offset: 0003c963

I have submitted the error reports. All of the other title bar options work

fine as long as I do not go to File. I have not loaded any new programs, I

run Norton 360 virus and file scans weekly, etc. Any ideas or suggestions on

how to repair without doing a full hardrive format and reinstall?

Re: Windows Explorer Crashes when clicking File

c:\ program files\ ontrack\ zipmagic\ zmshext.dll

Version: 4,0,2,75

Company: Ontrack Data International

Product: ZipMagic

Description: ZipMagic Shell Extension

Disabling the "ZipMagic Shell Extension" shell extension should prevent this error. See Method 2 here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm

If you need that extension, then contact the developer of the program for an update.
