Hi,

I am running XP Home on a desktop (2 yrs old), with dual screens.

A few days ago the screens suddenlz became filled with noise (like digital white noise, some banding and random circles in one corner, all superimposed on the 'real' screen image).

I could just about make out the position of the mouse and clicked on my user account login, but this didnt workl so I ended up forcing a shutdown (power), then rebooting in Safe Mode. The machine seems fine in safe mode, although obviously I need to fix the problem with a full load/XP boot.

I thought it may be the video card, but the one screen that works during safe mode is fine.

Can anyone help me diagnose this?? Am a bit (very) stuck..!

Thanks

JDC

What are you using to configure the 2 screens (Windows?)

Try swapping the monitor cables on the GPU and see if you get the same problem, but on the swapped monitors.

Its not uncommon for just one of the ports on the back of a GPU to fail.
