Guest Brian McGrew Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Over the last weekend I tried to do a 1.5TB data migration from an old server to a new machine using xcopy. I didn't know about robocopy at the time. The old server is running Win2K3 ES. The new server is running Win2K3R2 ES. All the data copied but when it hit the destination all the permissions on the files were either gone or wrong. So I turned the shares on the older servers back on and figured I'd try it again this coming weekend. The problem is, on the OLD servers, all the data, files and folders has been set to read only. This is on two servers. Right clicking and going to properties won't let me remove the read only. Well, it acts like it's removing it but really does not. And, the attrib command will not let me remove read only. What the heck did I do and how do I fix it??? Thanks, -brian
