WSUS Setting question

Does anyone know why the 'Allow Basic authentication (password is sent in

cleartext)' checkbox on the Proxy Server Tab of the Update Source and Proxy

Server settings in Options does not remain checked. This is only happening on

my newer Server 2k3 R2 Enterprise X64 edition SP2 Server. I have two WSUS

servers one for two seperate AD Forests and the other Server is Running

Server 2k3 R2 SP2 Standard 32 bit. My syncs fail on the new one until I

recheck that box and immediately do another sync.

I am not sure the answer because I haven't had this issue. However you may

try posting in the forum for WSUS called microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs

It is under Windows Server - Management - Software Update Services
