Guest Ron Hinds Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Has anyone else seen this? Windows Update will cause IIS, SMTP and POP3 to become unresponsive if there is a pending update (Automatic Updates set to notify only) or during an update (A.U. set to update automatically). Why does MS think that is a good idea? Since I need my web and eMail up all the time, I have to set A.U. to completely off!
Guest Anteaus Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 RE: Windows update makes server unresponsive No, but I agree that the whole idea of having a server automatically update itself would be a reason for a poor night's sleep or two. It's not unknown for updates to break desktops, and a downed server tends to make one decidedly unpopular with management. :-/ "Ron Hinds" wrote: > Has anyone else seen this?
