No password

hi

My son friend has a del lap top computer with windows XP his exs girlfriend change the past word to sign imto the computer. u can turn it on and it will boot up but it ask for pass word sign in. The girl claimns she forgot it and does remember and he can not get intoi the computer at all.

 

Is there a way for him to by pass or over ride something so he can get into his computer and use it . this boy who owns the computer is a dear friend of ours. He is in a wheel chair and he uses the computer a lot. he misses it a lot . I hope u can help me.

Unfortunately we cannot help on this issue as the PC could have (I am not saying it was) been obtained illegally.

 

That being said Google is a wonderful resource.........and if you typed in something like windows password and then watch whats in the drop down you may get lucky ;)

what has happen is that the ex girl friend who is 14 and loui is 16 got madd and pu in a pass word while she was over at his house its been a bigs mess and nothing they can do because the girl told the police which was called a whiled back that she for got what it was.

 

He has a xp would it help if we reinstall the computer disk or can he do that. loui owns the puter. The officer said there was nothing lou and his parents could do.She claims she for got the password. so instead of draging this to court Loui thought he could start it all over by restoring it. I am not sure that is why i ask u all.

Hi Judy, without that password there may be only one way forward and that would be a complete reformat and reinstall Windows. That of course will delete everything so all files and folders will be lost.
