Setting up DFS Windows2003 SP2 R2

I'm trying to test creating a Namespace (accounting) on SRV1 with R2 and SRV2

with R2 also they are the only servers with that version currently.

I'm creating the namespace on SRV1 but if I select Domain-based namespace I

get the following error:

\\Domain.com\accounting cannot be added. The specified domain either does

not exist or could not be contacted.

If I select Stand-alone namespace it creates fine.

Can someone help me? We would like to have fault tolerance if SRV1 goes down

we can still access the files from SRV2.

Thanks

What do you get if you ping domain.com from SRV1?

I get a good ping of the IP of my DC Server. Seen somthing about updating the

Schema for R2 version. Could that be the issue? Thanks

Re: Setting up DFS Windows2003 SP2 R2

You don't need to update the schema to create a namespace (or root). What

happens if you use the older Distributed File System GUI to create the DFS

Root?

On the other hand, is there any reason not to update the schema, so you can

use the new features of R2 like DFS Replication?
