igrek001 Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I have Toshiba note book Satellite A215. Originally I bought it 3 years ago with Window Vista. But since I don't liked Vista, I changed the system to Windows XP... Even don't remember in what shop it was done. Suddenly after cleaning the notebook with Anti-Maleware, message appears: 'This copy of Windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on. Do you want to activate Windows now?' For activation Microsoft require to fill up the Product Key, which, sure, I don't know. And I can't open my Windows. Is there some way to open my Windows? Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 You need to go back to the shop that installed Windows XP and find out why your system appears not to be valid. Without a product key you will not even be able to check the validity of the installation let alone run it. Even if there were a way (and I am not saying that there is) our forum rules would not allow anyone to provide assistance on how to bypass Microsoft's licensing procedures. Sadly, it may be that the "shop" was not all that reputable and may have installed an unlicensed copy to start with. If that is the case you are truly in deep (water) wben it comes to using that OS. Plastic Nev Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Providing the shop did install a legal copy of Windows XP they should have placed a sticker with that product key on it, probably underneath the notebook. Have a look if it is there and says it is for XP as the original sticker for the Vista may still be there as well. Ignore that one and do not try the key on that Vista sticker. If there is no XP licence sticker or label, your only course is to take it back to the shop and make some very loud noises at them for not providing that key. Nev.
