KenB Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Hi, new motherboard, ram and power supply When you put in the new m/b did you do a repair install / re-install of Windows? If not this is your problem. Windows is "clever" enough to recognise a new environment and refuses to boot up. The solution, if you have the XP disk, is to run a repair install. This will correct the problem and allow you to keep all data on your hard drive. KenB Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Has your system been doing this since the installation of the motherboard or was it OK for a while ? Try "Last Known Good Configuration" Constantly tap f8 (about once per second) after switching on. Select Last Known G C from the list. If this fails use f8 again and use "Safe Mode" Run the system in Safe Mode. Let us know if the problem is still there in Safe Mode or if it is OK. KenB Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Take the sound card, ethernet card and any other cards that you have on the motherboard out. Leave the Video Card and the RAM in. Try booting up normally. If it boots up normally put the cards back one at a time until the problem is re-created.
