Guest Cody Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Hi, previously I was using a Cisco router to be my DHCP server. As for better management, I built a DHCP server on a standalone server A (not joined domain) in my domain. However, I was not able to use netbios name to browse my shaed folder, a.k.a, using URL path with computer name (server B) to access network shares . Is there any scopes that I ahve to enable/setup inorder to make it run? P.S. I can ping the server with hostname (Server B). Please kindly help. THanks very much in adv Eddie
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Re: cannot resolve Host name with 2003 DHCP Server Hello Cody, Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP: network properties>TCP/IP>advanced>WINS>enable netbios over TCP If this not help you can install a WINS server in your domain.
