cool edit pro 2 probs

This is a strange one, I downloaded an mp3 music file, which lasts for approx 1hr 35 mins, when played on windows media player, the whole file is played, when inserted into nero wave editor, it also recognises the whole file, however, when inserted into cool edit pro 2, it only recognises 1 hr 9 mins of the file, obviousley at 1 hr 35 mins the file is too large to to be written to a cd disc, therefore i was hoping to edit it to fit on 2 discs, but this cant be done, because cool edit cant recognise the full length of the file, so anyhelp regarding this issue would be much appreciated, thanks.

I think perhaps some other editing software may be the answer, there are plenty of free programs available that should allow files much longer than yours to be edited, however try this-

Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

 

For this program to handle MP3 format you will have to download and install into it the L.A.M.E. encoder, but don't worry, Audacity actually gives you the help to download and install it.
