Reinstalled XP and now have no sound

Hi, I've recently reinstalled XP on my PC and now I don't have any sound. When I go into Device Manager, under Other Devices there is a yellow question mark and an exclamation mark beside Multimedia Audio Controller. My PC is a home build (by someone other than myself) and I'm running Windows XP service pack 3. I've had a look inside the PC but I can't see a soundcard, am I right in thinking that this means my soundcard is integrated with my motherboard? The motherboard is Intel, I've been on the Intel website and ran their driver update utility but it doesn't find anything for my soundcard... Hopefully someone here can help me out? If you need any further info I'll be happy to post it.

Hi

 

We need the make and model number of the motherboard.

 

The sound device would most likely be realtek but i am not sure without a model number of the motherboard.

Hi Maynardvdm, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I ran Belarc and this information came up under the Main Circuit Board heading, is this what you need?

 

Board: P4i65GV 1.0

Bus Clock: 100 megahertz

BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. P1.60 06/10/2004
