Windows 2000 pro client cannot be located through networkplaces>entire network?

I can ping the client by computer name. It doesn't seem to be a DNS

issue. We are trying to run this software that needs to locate the PC

through Network Places>entire network. I cannot understand why I

cannot see this client? Any ideas?

Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP:

network properties>TCP/IP>advanced>WINS>enable netbios over TCP

 

or install a WINS server in your network.
