So yeah, this question is older than dirt, but why not ask it again? Are all geeks Linux'ers? Do Microsoft really have a monopoly? Are graphics and sound engineers the only ones who use Macs?

Please note that this poll is about the operating system you would like to use, not the one you use currently.

They all suit different purposes so its not really the OS, its the purpose of the equipment.

for example server 2003 is very old by todays standards of OS's, but you cant use W7 to run a business :D

Linux is free which is the main reason its now used more widely than 10 years ago well that and the fact that it now works with most hardware, and isnt bloated like Windows ;)

I have Dual Boot XP Home and Windows7 Ultimate.

I still use XP 80% of the time.

Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.

I find Windows XP Home a perfect, time proven and reliable system. unfortunately MS will withdraw support in 2014 and I will have to update.

I will probably go for Windows 7. By then, this version should have had all the bugs sorted out. I still would prefer my XP. As most of the Third World use Windows XP and the cost of change is a hardship, I do not know what they will do.
