Hi guys,

I'm trying to make a custom windows 7 theme, i've got all the images I would like to use and i've also made a custom song to play when the user logs in.

The problem is this song won't play when I test logging in. It plays the windows sounds that you can choose from but when I try to use the sound i've made it just won't play when i login.

The sound is in wav format and is no more than 11 secs long - 4.35mb size. Is this too big of a file? wrong format?

I've downloaded and used custom made themes before in the past and some of them feature pieces of music from games for example that are the same time length more or less and they must be using wav file as the sounds.

Any help would be really appreciated, i'm learning as I go along but can't quite understand what im doing wrong?

thanks!

WAV format is fine. Like you when I tried to use a large file size for new mail notification it just wouldn't work. Small files in WAV I had no problem with. And when I say small I mean in the KB range like 52KB not MB.

I know this seems a simple question but once the tune showed up in the window, did you click the "Apply" button? I must admit I forgot that one once. However as Randy says, it may be too big a file, it certainly is correct format though as WAV. There is no indication as to a maximum file size though is there, so try a shorter and lower sized file.

Here is a tip too, convert the file to MP3, then back to WAV, the compression of MP3 will reduce the MB a little.

Nev.
