I am trying to reinstall windows Xp home edition onto my computer as the partition that was put on the computer before we had it is getting too small and the computer keeps telling me that the CD drive needs more space. I have tried booting from the Windows CD but it will not boot.

I Have tried changing the setup so that it boots from the CD drive first but when i press any key to boot from CD nothing happens it just loads as normal? Help help help please?

I have changed the BIOS to boot from CD drive first?

Sounds like you need to alter the Keyboard boot option's in Bios to enable in Bios/Boot From enable in windows

Yes, you may well have the Bios set to Boot from CD, But IF YOU DON'T SET THE KEYBOARD to be enabled in Boot, then you won't be able to PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD

Same as if you Don't read my Post correctly I will Disappear and help someone else :D

As mentioned by Match, you will need to enable the keyboard to work in BIOS otherwise your keyboard won't work and then you will not be able to boot from CD because your cannot command it to do so.

Reboot your computer. When the initial BIOS screen appears, press and hold the indicated key to launch the BIOS setup.

Locate the "Boot Sequence" or "Boot Order" listing in your BIOS setup. Depending on the type of BIOS that your Windows XP PC uses, the boot order listing may be immediately evident or it may be contained in an "Advanced Settings" section of the BIOS setup.

Set the CD or DVD drive that you wish to boot from as your primary boot device. Set your primary hard drive as the second or third boot device (depending on your preferred boot order and the other drives that you have installed on your computer).

Press the indicated key (often "F10") to save your new settings and exit the BIOS setup. The computer will reboot, and will attempt to access the CD or DVD drive that you specified before booting Windows XP from your hard drive.
