Dalo Harkin Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 If its running a Quad then it should have a PCI-E slot or two. so any PCI-E card will be fine, BUT check that your PSU has both the connectors needed and the Wattage to cope with a new card. Spikey1730989687 Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Thank you. im slightly depressed that my system info wont tell my what PSU i got so i have to take the cover off to find out :/ Quote
Jelly Bean Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 As it is a HP I would proberly upgrade the PSU,HP usaly come with a standard low wattage PSU. But yes take the side off the PC while powered off and remove from power outlet and take a peek inside. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Spikey1730989687 Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 I take it, it is very important to make sure it is off and unplugged? Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 You can leave it on, just dont stick your fingers in it  also if it has an 8500GT and you are looking at a 9800GTX+ then I would have thought there was enough juice in the PSU to cope with the upgrade, but better to check just incase :) Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.

Dalo Harkin Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Nope that wont do. on the side of the PSU it states the Wattage:- http://www.lockergnome.com/nexus/theoracle/files/2007/09/psu_itz_1300w_abs.jpg Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
