Help pls

hi everyone, im new to this so bare with me lol

 

right, i have a Medion PC MT5 and ive been trying to play the sims 2 pets on it ive installed it and it told me to enter the disc and i did but it didnt recognise it so i looked in the manual thing that comes with it and it said "if the game does not install properly or if your disc drive cannot detect the disc you may need to update the firmware for your dvd drive"

 

so my question is, how do i update it? :confused:

 

if anyone can help i would deeply appreciate it

Hello there and welcome.

 

Were did you buy this Medion PC?

 

See if we can find the driver for it.

 

Or do you know the make and model number of the disk drive?

 

Or full make and model number of the PC?

erm, the dvd rom drive is an ultima electronics model number: DH1-G40

the pc is a medion model MT5

not sure if any of this helps, this is just what it says on it lol

i just need the firmware for the dvd rom apparently, but havnt got a clue where to get it from.

 

i dont no where the pc is from as it was given to me.

Your initial post makes no sense, you said you installed the game (for which the disk needs to be in the drive for it to install) then you say that it didnt see the disk in the drive.

 

And I wouldnt be advising an upgrade of the firmware at this point - if you get it wrong you will need a new CD/DVD drive

thats what happened, the game installed (in the dvd rom) then it told me to make sure the disc was in the drive but it was and it kept sayin there was no disc in the drive.

i dont know whats happening and i dont know whats wrong with it, i just read the game manual and it said if the disc isnt detected i should update the firmware.

Ok,

 

As pets is an 'add on' you sometimes have to use the original games play disk, which in this case would be the Sims 2 disk :)
