What is difference between DC & ADC in Windows 2003 server?

I know ADC standing for Active Directory Connector which is a piece of

software used to connect Exchange 5.5 with Active Directory.

 

But I guess most of the time it's just used as a synonym for "Active

Directory" or something like an "Active Directory (domain) Controller".

"Domain controller"

&

"Additional Domain Controller"

 

in Windows 2003 server?

 

Both are same or there is some difference???
