If your PC will not even install with the card in then its either the wrong type of card for the MOBO or the PSU cannot supply the power needed to make it function.

That spec is very low by todays standards and that card should be fine with it.

Check that you have connected all the power cables etc and supplied power to the GPU properly

Hi thanks for the reply, everything is conected correctly and the pc will start up but freezes, the screen will not come on and you can only turn off the pc by pulling the plug? i have replaced the card with a new one just to see if it was falty but i still have the same result! not sure were to go from here? how can i find out what card is compatable for the MOBO and if the GPU can supply correct power? The MOBO is Micro Star -7168. VER: IC if that helps? i am new to all this and am thinking "take it to the shop and let them look at it"? Many thanks Tom.

Well it supports PCIE so its not that.

Do you have onboard video on that MOBO? and if so have you disabled it in the BIOS

Hi have foud out how to disable the on bourd graphics ! do you have to do this for any card to be able to work? have asked local shop and they told me my system may not have enough power to run the card? Tom.

You cant run both at the same time, thats the problem, if you are using an add in card then yes you need to disable the onboard one, as it can cause conflicts
