Guest A. Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Hi I'm currently setting up a machine with Windows 2008 server which I will use as my developet workstation with Visual Studio 2008. But I have problems finding a good antivirus solution. It seems like the only ones available are bit, enterprise packages, but what I essentially needs is a simple AV program. Any recomandations? /A

Any recomandations? ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition is very effective, very light on resources and very cheap. Don't bother with the full suite (Smart Security). http://www.eset.com/products/nod32.php#biz ss.

Got a message saying:"This product version is not intended for server operating systems," earlier I've used Nod on my Windows 2003 developer workstation. /A
Guest Simon Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Re: Server and antivirus Check this post out from the MSDN forums http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2312029&SiteID=1 "A." wrote: > > > > > > > ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition is very effective, very light on > > resources and very cheap. Are you sure you tried the Business version? That should install on servers okay. I have not used 2008 yet, but I checked to see if NOD32 is compatible with it when I made my post, based on this webpage: http://www.betterantivirus.com/nod32-and-virus-news/archives/806-ESET-Announces-Support-for-Windows-Server-2008.html That's over a month old, so I would have thought that NOD32 Business supports Windows Server 2008 by now. ss.
