Guest Meat Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Hi, I installed R2 on some servers and I had issues with the activation of File Server Ressource Manager. On those servers I created registry keys that hold a RPC configuration and this registry key was wiped out by the activation of File Server Ressource Manager. Also, the activation of File Server Ressource Manager install Framework 2.0. I want to know where I can find informations about other Optionnal Components of R2 that could do some modifications like File Server Ressource Manager (Ex. : preliminary to activate an option, registry key that could be changed/deleted/added, etc.) Thank you.
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Re: W2K3 R2 Optional Components Hello Meat, The question is, for what reason/software/operation did you modify the registry? Is it for a software you have to check the vendors website. Please give more info about this part. I have never seen/heard, that a new software/function/role from MS software wiping out entries during installation. Guest Meat Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Re: W2K3 R2 Optional Components Hi Meinolf, The registry key we created was for the port range of our RPC configuration. I had no problems after installing R2, the problems began when I activated the ''File Server Ressource Manager''. As soon as the option was activated, it automatically install Framework 2.0 and wipes out the registry key. Thank you for your help.
