twedspeed Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Hi - was in "CHIPS" a local gaming shop and saw a MEDAL OF HONOUR game for the P.C. - we had it on the old PS 2 a few years ago and loved it - So I loaded it up into the PC and it worked fine for a few days then today it all went tits up - for some reason the screen has gone all big ? the bits at the bottom of the screen that your supposed to click on are inly just visable - and when you DO click on them and start playing your game it only runs for a minute or two then it stops itself and a big white "its stopped running" warning comes up ? - it was fine yesterday ?? if anyone knows wot the fault is - and is prepared to post an "idiots guide" to putting it right I,d appreciated the help. Cheers . Quote

Goku Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Hello Twedspeed. :) any one - its a windows 7 ???? heloooo ???? ........... Sorry for the delay in response; your thread got buried under the daily barrage. So I loaded it up into the PC and it worked fine for a few days then today it all went tits up - for some reason the screen has gone all big ? the bits at the bottom of the screen that your supposed to click on are inly just visable - and when you DO click on them and start playing your game it only runs for a minute or two then it stops itself and a big white "its stopped running" warning comes up ? - it was fine yesterday ?? if anyone knows wot the fault is - and is prepared to post an "idiots guide" to putting it right I,d appreciated the help. Cheers . OK ... ummm ... since this problem started happening recently, can you tell us of any hardware / software changes you made in the last week? Also, have you tried reinstalling the game? If yes, then what results does it yield? If not, then please try so and see if it helps or not. Because usually, the graphics settings change to an unfavourable resolution which causes the game crash before it even runs. Reinstalling the game usually restores the settings to their defaults often fixing the problem. And don't worry about your save files. Most games store them in a different directory so there is a rare chance that they will be overwritten in any way. :) Good luck. -- Goku Quote
twedspeed Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Thanx - I tried the uninstall then re install both discs and it did the same thing - Something DID pop up about 10 minutes before it crashed , only problem is I cant remember wot it was ?? "I know I,m a complete idiot" But I was a bit involved with the game so I just clicked yes in the box so It,d go away and I could get back to kicking hitlers arse . Might try again . Quote
Goku Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Hello Twedspeed. Any developments on the error message? -- Goku Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 There is normally a configuration utility that can be run from the software folder, have a look where the game is installed normally:- C:/ program files/ (game developer name, eg ATARI, EA, LUCASARTS etc) and within that folder there will be a config utility, it basically allows you to set resolution and graphic options.
